Dharma - Code of conduct for happiness

There is plethora of information about happiness with the advent of world wide web but I seldom see clear anatomy of happiness defined anywhere. That's not surprising considering the fact that happiness comes from sources sometimes even not known to us. One leading factor though undeniably is one's understanding of "Dharma" which mean one's incessant pursuit of inner and outer happiness with acts of spiritual and moral compassion for all. Ancient Hindu scriptures refer to Dharma as "atman" mean deep inner consciousness or soul. Life ends when soul exits from our body and due to firm integral ties between our soul and Dharma, life looses its moral path once we abandon Dharma.

So, you may ask, what is Dharma ? Vedic scriptures of ancient India defines that life has four major motivational forces. Dharma, Kama, Artha and Moksha. Dharma instills inner strength and spiritual will power and acts as soul purifier to lead our life for an eternal happiness. Kama leads us to happiness with sensual acts. Artha creates burning desire to achieve financial success and the most important of all is moksha means leading life devoted to high spiritual standards to attain heaven and to free one's soul from endless cycle of reincarnation.

We shall ask ourselves everyday, did I do any acts of kindness or compassion ? did I try to be a better father, mother, husband or wife today ? Am I attaining higher moral values ? Answers to these questions will improve your everyday life code of conduct and it will lead your life towards everlasting peace, prosperity and happiness since your actions will conform to law of nature.
